Designers create Leica camera case concept that houses and utilizes an
iPhone 4. Black DA has come up with an incredible phone case concept that combines the Leica camera's retro style and lens with the convenience and practicality of the
iPhone 4. Called the “dream project”, the designers over at Black have come up with much more than just a simple camera case attachment. Going above and beyond expectations, the Leica I9 concept features an independent camera body that works with its own hardware rather than relying on the iPhone's processor.
The case itself utilizes the phone's 30-pin connector to transfer images directly to the phone which would allow for the use of real camera features rather than emulated features from the phone. This means users will be able to use a true optical zoom, complete with shutter dials and dedicated aperture. Of course with a case of this quality, Black DA is estimating that the production would lead to a case cost of around $900-$1,200, unfortunately out of the range of many of the consumers that would love to have it.
